Intercessors....God's Army in Prayer

Intercession is the act of interceding; prayer or entreaty in favor of another. It is to intervene between parties with a view to reconciling differences. It is occupying a middle position between God and others. Although the word intercession only occurs nine times in the Bible according to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, the act of intercession is woven throughout the Old and New Testament.

The intercessor takes the position of standing between two opposing forces, e.g. between light and darkness, between despair and hope, between sickness and wholeness, between life and death, between chaos and order. They stand "in the gap." 

“I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it.” (Ezekiel 22:30)

"Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken."(Ecclesiastes 4:12) 

"Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven." (Matthew 18:19)
